Proceedings of the last Annual General Meeting



     CRSI Annual General Meeting was held in INSA Auditorium Delhi, on December 14, 2009 at 18.30 hrs.
     Following discussions have been made by the CRSI members present at this meeting, which house agreed.

 

  1. The general secretary briefed the activities of CRSI for the past year. CRSI has taken up an R&D project for BARC through IMSc. It is of 3 years duration and has a value of Rs.10 lakhs per year. It is proposed that Rs.3 lakhs for this project-budget be put aside to provide travel support to students who get the opportunity to present a research paper on Cryptology in a refereed conference either in India or abroad. The decision on each application is left with the President & General Secretary. This proposal was approved.

 

  1. The audited account for the financial year 2008-09 was presented and got approved.

 

  1. Indocrypt 2010 will be held at Hyderabad during Dec. 12-15, 2010. The host will be C.R.RAO Advance Institute for Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. The General Co-Chairs will be Prof. S.B.RAO and Prof. Bimal Roy while the program Co-Chairs will be Dr. Kishan Gupta and Prof. Guang Gong (University of  Waterloo).

 

  1. The national workshop on Cryptology will be held at Coimbatore during the first week of September, 2010. PSG College of Technology will host the event.

 

  1. A special workshop on Cryptology, primarily of expository nature, meant for college, university teachers and research scholars in mathematics, statistics, computer science, electronics etc. will be hosted by Department of Mathematics, Manipur University in the first week of May, 2010.

 

  1. A discussion was initiated for academia- industry- R&D labs collaboration. Mr. Rajesh Nambiar, GM & VP, IBM India, Dr. Satya Lokam, Manager MSRI took active participation in the discussions. It was suggested that Mr. Sanjay Burman and one person each from IBM & MSRI (to be identified by Mr. Nambiar and Dr. Lokam respectively) will meet and come out with some concrete suggestions.

 

  1. The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the Chair, Prof. R. Balasubramaniam.
